Shillong, Sep 4: A training programme on concepts of Farmers Producer Organisation (FPO), roles and responsibilities, financial management, business planning, management strategies, governance and compliances along with scientific pig farming practices was held in Ri Bhoi district.
The programme was organised by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Ri-Bhoi in collaboration with the College of Agriculture (COA) Kyrdemkulai.
Ten enthusiastic BODs Member farmers of Na Sem Piggery FPO from the district gathered to enhance their skills and knowledge in management of FPOs, piggery management through scientific farming and entrepreneurial practices.
The sessions were organised to provide practical training and support to improve agricultural and piggery practices in the district.
Participants engaged in various activities, including workshops and hands-on demonstrations, focusing on modern techniques and sustainable practices for Pig rearing.
The initiative aimed to empower farmers with the necessary tools and insights to boost their productivity, optimise operations, and ultimately, improve their economic outcomes.
