The Gorkha Training Centre held its passing out parade of the second batch of Agniveers at Shillong today.
Seventy-three Agniveers passed out at the ceremony conducted at the Harish Parade Ground in Happy Valley. The parade was reviewed by Brig Robi Kapoor, Commandant 58 Gorkha Training Centre.
The ceremonial parade marks the completion of the training schedule for recruits at the training centre. These Agniveers will be serving in Assam Regiment units at various locations spread across the country.
Kapoor congratulated the young Soldiers on their remarkable journey through the demanding training and their readiness to take on the challenges that lie ahead in their service to the Nation.
In his address, the commandant stressed upon the importance of valour, honour, ethos, sacrifice and putting service before self in line with the finest traditions of the Indian Army.
During the presentation ceremony, Recruit Agniveer Edwin Augustine Rai was awarded the Overall Best Recruit as well as Best Recruit of 8 Gorkha Rifles and Best Recruit of 5 Gorkha Rifles (Frontier Force) was awarded to Agniveer Mohit Chhetri.
