In yet another horrific crime committed in Ri-Bhoi, the body of an elderly man was found in a field today evening.
The 70-year-old, Elius Ryndong, suffered brutal injuries to his head.
He was found at a field belonging to the family near a football ground at 20th Mile Pahammawlein village.
Family members informed that Ryndong had left his home at around 7am this morning to go to the field. His body was then discovered in the evening.
Police, who were immediately informed of the incident, rushed to the crime scene and brought the body to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for an autopsy. They have also begun an investigation into the murder.
