The Adventurous Hynniewtrep Off-Roaders (AHOR) kicked off its 5th AHOR 4X4 Off-Road Challenge 2023 today at Kharsati Natural Park, Ri-Bhoi.
The three-day event promises heart-pounding action with participants competing in four distinct categories: Ladies, Stock, Semi-Modified and Modified with more than 60 participants from both within and outside the state.
Speaking about the event, AHOR president Damian Umdor said, “Participants from various states across the North East have converged here to be a part of this exhilarating event. We have already received registrations from over 60 daredevils, with more on their way. This year’s terrain is designed to be exceptionally challenging, as our primary goal is to enhance the skills of off-roaders and elevate the overall off-roading experience.”
He added, “In a special treat for the spectators, we will have a night track today, and I am confident that the audience will be spellbound by the extraordinary skills exhibited by our off-roaders.”
The different categories have been created to encourage a wider range of participants, starting with the Ladies category for women, Stock for those who prefer unmodified vehicles, Semi-Modified for those with minimal tweaks and Modified for vehicles that have undergone substantial engine and overall modifications. The Stock category has the most participants.
