Reid Provincial Chest Hospital, Shillong, received a video bronchoscope machine, which was funded by the ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth.
The machine was inaugurated by Commissioner and Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Joram Beda today. Others present were the hospital’s Superintendent, Dr M Mawrie; Additional Medical Superintendent Dr J Kharwanlang; KJ Gangte of ICICI Bank; and hospital staff.
The video bronchoscope will be used for bronchoscopy, which is a procedure that lets the examining doctor study the airways of a patient’s lungs. The machine will benefit all patients who need the procedure, especially those of the low-income group.
