Five stolen motorbikes were recovered by police over the weekend in East Jaintia Hills, seemingly abandoned by the people who had made off with them.
Yesterday two bikes were recovered on the roadside near Kuliang in an abandoned condition and police believe these to have been stolen. Accordingly, both motorcycles were brought to Umkiang police patrol post for further action.
Then, this morning, police were tipped off and they conducted a thorough search in the Umkiang area where they recovered another three abandoned motorbikes, including one Royal Enfield and two Bajaj Pulsars near Wahkoh.
