The Nongstoiñ Traffic Branch today launched a drive to remove tinted films from vehicles.
Altogether eight vehicles flaunting tinted films on their windows, 15 with LED lights and six vehicles with modified registration plates were detected and fined as per law during the drive.
Meanwhile, the Shillong Traffic Police detected 408 vehicles with tinted glasses from July 14 to August 1 in a bid to enhance road safety and prevent crimes.
Superintendent of Police, Sylvester Nongtnger said action has been taken against the violators as per the provisions of Motor Vehicle Act.
Police also urged vehicle owners to comply with the regulations and remove tinted glass from their vehicles as per the Supreme Court order.
