The Jowai City YMCA conducted a free health camp and screening for the senior citizens at, Iawthymme, Jowai wherein 41 of them benefited from the camp.
The programme was held in collaboration with the office of District Social Welfare Officer and Health department on March 20.
Physicians and health workers from Ladthalaboh Urban Health Centre, Jowai and Bansara Eye Care Centre, Jowai carried out the medical examinations.
An awareness programme was also conducted wherein a medical team from the Ladthadlaboh provided informative sessions on Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) and a team from Bansara Eye care shared valuable insights on preventive healthcare measures and common health concerns among the elderly.
DEIC Manager Dr. H.L Suting spoke about the Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY) schemes, highlighting the benefits from senior citizens and how they can avail healthcare service under this scheme.
