Four schools in South West Khasi Hills district have been selected to represent the district at the State Level Children’s Science Congress to be held later this year.
The selected schools are Mawten Secondary School and Presbyterian Higher Secondary School, Mawlangwir in the junior category, and Little Star Higher Secondary School, Mawkyrwat and Presbyterian Higher Secondary School, Mawlangwir in the senior category.
These schools were selected based on the basis of their research projects presented at the District Level Children’s Science Congress, which was held today in the office of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Office, Mawkyrwat Division.
The objective of the congress is to promote scientific thinking and innovation among students, providing them with a platform to showcase their scientific concepts and experiments aimed at addressing real-life problems.
The event on the theme, ‘Understanding Ecosystem for Health and Wellbeing’ was organized by the State Council for Science Technology and Environment (SCSTE) in collaboration with the District Planning Office.
