A semi-decomposed body of a 37-year old man was recovered from a paddy field between Diwian Rangblang and Nongbah Rangblang villages in South West Khasi Hills District today.
The deceased has been identified as Reginald Iawphniaw.
According to the sordars of the two villages, Darius Lyngkhoi and Modington Thyrniang the body was first spotted by some boys tending to their cattle at around 11: 30 am and they immediately informed the police.
The family of the deceased later identified the body from the clothes and said there was no foul play involved in his death as he was not in good health and was an epileptic patient.
