Thirty-one persons involved in a clash between TMC and NPP workers at Charbatapara village under Phulbari constituency have been arrested so far.
Chief Electoral Officer FR Kharkongor today said West Garo Hills police has launched multiple raids and arrested the people involved in the pre-poll violence.
Sixteen persons from TMC were arrested yesterday morning and 15 from NPP later.
Police yesterday have bound over 125 persons and trouble mongers are made to execute bond for good behaviour.
As election authorities are keeping a close watch over the situation, security forces have also staged a flag march in the area.
The incident has led to a blame game among the rival parties. While TMC candidate and Phulbari MLA S G Esmatur Mominin claimed the NPP supporters had started the attack, NPP MDC Habibur Zaman alleges that few TMC supporters hit their Scorpio vehicle which led to the scuffle.
Nine people were injured in the clash on February 7.
