The East Khasi Hills Anti Narcotic Task Force arrested three suspected drug dealers in the city today and seized 218.88gms of heroin.
The names of the drug supplier were not revealed by the police but said one of them was arrested at 5.30am while attempting to hand over narcotics to drug users.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Sylvester Nongtnger said the arrested person then led to his house in Demthring where another 10.78 gms of heroin was recovered.
Nongtnger said he then led police to the house of his suppliers (husband-wife duo) in the same locality and police seized 10 soap cases containing heroin weighing 140.02 gms and several other incriminating items were seized from the couple.
A case is being registered under the NDPS Act and investigation is on to follow it up, the SP said.
