Mawkyrwat, Apr 24: South West Khasi Hills district police apprehended two persons suspected of drug peddling at Khundom in Lawblei village and recovered about 0.60 grams of heroin from them.
Acting on information, an operation was carried out by a team led by Inspector JPT Lakiang, Sub-Inspector R. Lyngdoh, and the ANTF unit. The operation targeted the movement of drug peddlers travelling from Shillong to Mawkyrwat.
During the check, two persons—identified as Angelbert Ryntathiang (26) and Khrawbok Mawlein—were intercepted.
Authorities also seized vehicles, mobile phones, and other incriminating items. Both individuals have been taken to Mawkyrwat Police Station for further investigation.
