The 6th East Khasi Hills District Chess Selection Tournament 2024 which was held at Umsohsun Community Hall, Shillong from May 31 concluded yesterday. The tournament was conducted by the East Khasi Hills District Chess Association.
The winners (in the order of ranking) are Bobby Lyngdoh (Pynthorumkhrah), Ganesh Rai (Demseiñiong), Anubhav Sharma (Mawprem), Ardhendu Shekhar Mandal (Demseiñiong), Banrijohn Mukhim (Mawkynrew), Gipolson Pahsyntiew (Laitumkhrah), Gargee Chakravarty (Jail Road), Sawan Dey Sarkar (Laban), Ratnadeep Dutta (Jail Road), Devraj Dutta (Jail Road), Jefferson Lyngdoh (Jaiaw Langsning) and Sudil Limboo (Nongmensong).
These twelve players will represent East Khasi Hills District in the 47th Meghalaya State FIDE Rating Chess Championship 2024 which will be held at Asanang Wangala Hall, Tura from June 12 to 15.
Further, the top four players from this State FIDE Rating Chess Championship will represent Meghalaya at the National Chess Championship 2024 to be held at Haryana from August 17 to 27.
