The office of the South West Khasi Hills District Sports Officer, in collaboration with the District Programme Officer, ICDS Cell, Nongstoiñ, today organized yoga sessions for working women and adolescent girls as part of the Rashtriya Poshan Maah celebrations.
The programme was chaired by the DSO, Damang Syngkon.
Heli Sahkhar, the Child Development Project Officer, explained about Poshan Maah, saying that it is an overarching government flagship programme to improve nutritional status of children up to six years, adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers to achieve specific targets for reduction in low birthweight babies, stunting growth, undernutrition and prevalence of anaemia.
