Shillong, Sep 12: A one-day district-level workshop on the Uttar Poorva Transformative Industrialization Scheme (UNNATI-2024) was held yesterday at the New Circuit House Conference Hall in Baghmara.
Deputy Commissioner of South Garo Hills District Sumit Kumar Singh who attended the programme as the chief guest highlighted the significance of the UNNATI scheme, a centrally sponsored initiative aimed at promoting industrial development and generating employment in the Northeast region.
Singh said the scheme offers substantial financial incentives, including subsidies, to mitigate capital costs and enhance profitability. This, in turn, will improve the industrial scenario in the region by promoting domestic manufacturing and service provision.
Functional Manager of the District Commerce and Industries Centre (DCIC) HG Momin introduced the scheme and outlined the eligibility criteria and registration deadlines.
Member of the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) team B. Warjri gave a detailed presentation on the scheme.
The workshop emphasized that the scheme will be effective from March, 2024 to March, 2034. The event aimed to disseminate information about the scheme and encourage stakeholders to participate in the initiative.
