The War Jaintia Students Union (WJSU), Education Sub Committee will hold the first War Jaiñtia Scholarship Examination, 2024.
The union said over 750 registrations have been received.
A total of 14 examination centres will be put up. The examination has been divided into section I for students who completed Class IV in 2023, section II for students who completed Class VI and section III for those who completed Class VIII.
The union said 14 examination centres will be put up to be manned by an in-charge appointed by it and examiners appointed by the subcommittee.
WJSU general secretary Everest R Langstang said the aim of holding the competitive examination is to reduce school dropout rate.
