Another 13 people were today arrested by West Khasi Hills police for their involvement in the murder of an 80 year old man at Nongdisong village.
They are identified as Medonal Marngar, Yasperious Marngar, Phronding Marngar, Standing Roy Marngar, Nestorius Marngar, Kaius Marngar, Ronaldo Marngar, Amstrong Marngar, Dicamelon Marngar, Drekshaiful Marngar, Khraw Kupar Marngar, Khlurlang Peinlang and Ebestar Marngar.
Earlier police arrested eight people, all from the Marngar clan. The number of arrests made till date is 21.
Moris Marngar was buried alive over the suspicion that he practiced witchcraft on October 7, a day after he was forcibly taken from his home at Mawliehbah Mawnar village about three kilometers to Nongdisong village on October 6.
He was accused by the family members of casting an evil spell over his niece.
