About 500 volunteers, students, NSS officers, faculty members and staff of William Carey University today organised a massive cleaning drive today as part of the Clean India Campaign and collected more than 700kg of plastic waste.
The cleaning drive was organised by the NSS cell of the university with the support of Nongmensong rangbah shnong and dorbar dong Umkdiat, which started from the university premises, Umkdait till Nongmensong market.
State NSS officer, F. Rumnong and vice chancellor of the university, Prof. (Dr.) Soma Bhowmick took part in the campaign encouraging volunteers and participants.
