All weekly markets in West Garo Hills district will be temporarily closed till May 15.
The District Magistrate in an order today said this was required to prevent mass gathering of people and the need to follow the health protocols.
Traders and businessmen from outside the state have to produce Covid-19 negative certificates issued by the Civil hospital, CHC, PHC, Sub-centres or authorized laboratories, the order said.
Shop-keepers, traders and general public are advised to strictly follow the Covid protocols such as wearing masks in public places, maintaining social distance, practice of hand hygiene, etc.
