Shillong, Dec 23: The scholarship distribution ceremony of the 2nd Warjaintia Scholarship Examination 2025 was held on December 22 at Amlarem.
Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui was the chief guest.
The event witnessed the presence of several prominent guests, special invitees, parents, teachers and general public. Their presence greatly encouraged the leadership and volunteers of the Union to continue working tirelessly towards uplifting rural students and enabling them to compete with their urban counterparts in the field of academic excellence and talent development.
A total of 64 meritorious students were honoured during the ceremony with scholarships and certificates of excellence .
Rymbui expressed his satisfaction with the noble educational initiative undertaken by the WjSU .He highlighted prevailing misconceptions among some parents regarding the value of education and urged them to continue sending their children to school. He emphasised that education provides knowledge, skills and experience that can transform families , societies and nations across various job oriented and professional fields.
