The Voice of the People Party has demanded the immediate release of pending salary to staff of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC).
The party said staff were left unpaid for 13 months, which has affected the staff and their families.
VPP Organizing Secretary, Damewanhi L Rymbai said the pending salary should be released before the Behdeinkhlam festival and threatened of action.
A letter in this regard was submitted to the Executive Member JHADC P Dkhar in the absence of the CEM and Deputy CEM.
