The Deputy Commissioner of Ri-Bhoi has ordered all government employees in the district to get vaccinated against Covid-19.
The order was imposed amid the ongoing fight against the sharp rise of coronavirus cases in Ri-Bhoi.
RM Kurbah also ordered all officials, staff, Anganwadi workers and accredited social health activists (ASHAs) to get the jab. Those who refuse must be able to produce a negative RT-PCR test certificate every 10 days.
Moreover, all shopkeepers are allowed to open their shops only after vaccination. All drivers who are considered frontline workers are also not allowed to ply their vehicles without vaccination and teachers of all educational institutions should vaccinate themselves before classes resume.
