Shillong, Dec 2: The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM), through its Quiz Forum, organised a national quiz competition on the life and activities of Assam’s cultural icon, Zubeen Garg as part of the founder’s day 2025 celebrations.
Themed, “Celebrating the Life & Activities of Zubeen Garg: Where Knowledge Meets Zubeenism,” the event aimed to honour the remarkable journey, artistic legacy, and humanitarian values of one of the most celebrated icons of India.
Bhargav Bhushan Biswapati, Bikas Das and Debasish Deka of Bhattadev University and DIET, Nalbari took away the first prize of Rs 25,000.
Jowarjit Kashyap, Abhinav Saikia, and Debasish Deka from Gauhati University and Guwahati Commerce College won the second prize of Rs 20,000 and Arya Kalpa Bhattacharya, Jyotiraj Gogoi, and Jitul Koch from DIET Dhemaji and Dhemaji College bagged the third prize of Rs 15,000.
Three consolation prizes of Rs 2500 were also awarded.
The day also observed a Founder’s Day Pitch Competition, organised by the Centre for Innovation, Incubation & Entrepreneurship (CIIE), which brought together young innovators.
The winners for cash award amounting to Rs 50,000 were shared between Neuroflex, F&V Agro Tech and Nonoheal Innovators, who won the first, second and third prize respectively.
The winners of both competitions were felicitated at a ceremony attended by USTM Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque, Vice Chancellor Prof GD Sharma and others.
