The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) has, for the third year running, been ranked among the top 200 universities in India in the ninth edition of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024.
The rankings were revealed yesterday by Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan.
USTM is the only private university in the North East to have received this rank for the third time. The ranking is based on various criteria, including education and infrastructure, research and professional practice, etc.
USTM has received an accreditation ‘A Grade’ after a thorough review by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 2021. The university has also been recognised as a green campus, which is also one of the priorities of the NAAC.
On the occasion, the management of USTM held a celebration today, with university Chancellor M Hoque expressing his immense pride in the achievement.
