Shillong, May 31: Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya visited Ri-Bhoi to audit implementation of key central schemes under the Aspirational District Programme.
Chairing a review meeting, Mandaviya assessed performance across education, agriculture, healthcare, rural livelihoods and social welfare. Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Saini presented data on scheme rollout and gaps on the ground.
The Union Minister took stock of service delivery and quality-of-life indicators, while district officials flagged field-level challenges in meeting targets under flagship schemes.
Ri-Bhoi, as a so-called aspirational district, is one of 112 of the most economically and socially under-developed districts across 28 states that have been picked for this programme, which the Centre launched in 2018. These districts are striving to improve local human development indices and localise Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
