Begun with only a small thatched roof above it, the Persara Upper Primary School in Umsning has come a long way in its 25-year journey to provide quality education to children from the area and celebrated its silver jubilee today.
Umsning MLA Jason Sawkmie Mawlong was present at the function to mark the conclusion of the 25th anniversary in the presence of local MDC Macdalyne Sawkmie Mawlong and other special invitees.
Persara UP School was established in 1997 to accommodate underprivileged children. Thanks to continuous efforts of the founders and management, the school has been able to grow from strength to strength and celebrate its silver jubilee.
The MLA today released a souvenir of the school, which recalled the 25-year journey and recalled the many obstacles that had to be overcome in order for the institution to reach this milestone.
