East Jaiñtia Hills police arrested two persons from Nongsning village and seized 22.3 grams of heroin during a search conducted of all vehicles coming from Lumshnong side.
The accused, Manoj Muksor (23) and Vicky Dkhar (26) of Mihmyntdu, Jowai were travelling in a local taxi bearing registration number ML 11 3594.
Police said two soap boxes with a yellowish powder, tested positive for heroin, with net weight of 21grams was found from Muksor and another 1.03 grams with 34 vials was recovered from Dkhar.
Two mobile phones, black back pack and a sling bag were also seized from the accused.
Police said legal action has been initiated in the case.
