Shillong, Aug 31: The office of the District Sports Officer of West Khasi Hills, in collaboration with the Deputy Commissioner of Eastern West Khasi Hills, organised a tug of war competition on Saturday at Umsoit Ground, Kynshi. The event was part of the observance of National Sports Day 2025, paying tribute to India’s legendary hockey player, Major Dhyan Chand.
The programme was attended by Mawthadraishan MDC Powell Sohkhlet, along with village leaders, officials from the Sports Department, teachers and members of the public. The competition saw the participation of five men’s teams and four women’s teams.
Kynshi Sports Social and Cultural Club emerged victorious, claiming the championship title in both men’s and women’s events.
