A truck transporting an excavator overturned near Umket bridge in Ri Bhoi causing heavy traffic congestion along the Bhoirymbong-Kyrdem road.
The incident occurred today around noon, leading to significant disruption in the area as commuters were left stranded.
In order to reach their destinations, commercial vehicles had to rearrange passengers and redirect their routes. The timing of event also coincides with the weekly Umroi market, which added to the congestion and inconvenience.
No casualty was reported.
Authorities from Khapmara Police Investigation Center (PIC) promptly arrived at the scene as efforts are also on to clear the road.
Meanwhile, local authorities have urged motorists and commuters to exercise caution and follow instructions given by the police until the situation is fully resolved.
