Kyrshan Dkhar, a resident of Chamcham, East Jaiñtia Hills District today announced that he is ready to contest the Tuber- Wapung seat in the upcoming Jaiñtia Hills Autonomous District Council polls from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Dkhar, who is a member of the BJP Youth Wing of the district and president of the East Jaiñtia Hills Truck Owners and Transporters Association, told reporters that he has put forward the proposal before the BJP district president to contest.
He said even if the party does not agree to his candidature he will contest the upcoming district council with the blessings of his supporters to push through with issues affecting the community and to strengthen the JHADC.
Dkhar expressed concern over the inefficiency of the district council to streamline the operations of cement companies in the district.
The BJP is yet to announce its candidates for both the KHADC and JHADC polls.
