A tourist taxi driver was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Mynkre in East Jaiñtia district.
Fullmoon Kharsahnoh, a resident of Larnai in West Jaiñtia Hills district who drives a Swift Desire ML-04-D-1113 went missing yesterday.
According to his brother, Batskhem Kharsahnoh, the body was recovered last evening with wounds on his head, neck and face while his hands and feet were tied with a rope.
General Secretary of the Jowai-Shillong-Guwahati Tourist Cab Association, John Lyngdoh said while they and the family were on a search for Fullmoon they were informed by people from the toll gate at Lumshnong that his car was driven by another man.
Meanwhile, the association and the Khasi Students Union East Jaiñtia Hills District have demanded immediate arrest and punish the culprits responsible for the murder.
