Teachers who have passed the Meghalaya Teacher Eligibility Test (MTET) are aggrieved that, even after getting over this additional hurdle, they have yet to find jobs in the government schools.
In a press release today claiming to be from MTET-passed teachers, it was stated that there are more than 1,000 vacancies in government lower primary schools in the state but the recruitment process has been slow if not stuck entirely.
Teacher hopefuls also have to deal with an upper age limit and there are those who have gotten to that mark even though they had begun the job application process much earlier.
