A three-day training programme on ‘Conservation Education’ for teachers and students of eco clubs and educational institutions began today at the Central Academy for State Forest Service (CASFOS), Burnihat, Assam.
The programme will run until Thursday. In attendance on the first day were officials from the Assam government and CASFOS.
There are 35 participants in all – 13 teachers and 22 students – from Assam and Meghalaya.
MK Yadava, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Assam, delivered the inaugural address and congratulated the participants on joining the training programme, which will enhance their wisdom about the conservation of nature. He also emphasised that the participants should observe changes in the neighbourhood environment and to dissipate the knowledge gained in the training to colleagues and friends.
C Ramesh, Principal of CASFOS Burnihat, informed that the training has been organised to bring people closer to nature and to appreciate the importance of nature in their daily lives.
