A noodle brand recently conducted the grand finale of the ‘Yummy Talent Fest’ to recognise and amplify Meghalaya’s emerging artists and performers.
This was the first-of-its-kind celebration of local talent in the region.
The first-place winner in the entertainment category went to Ariana Syiem (singer), the second place was bagged by Mewan Aikupar Ryntathiang (rapper), Daphilakhamti Mary Pyngrope (singer) secured the third place.
In the creativity category, the first place went to Garry & Rimeca (Cosplay), Pynkitbor Kharbani (Sketch Artist) grabbed the second place and the third place was bagged by Cuty Kharbuki (Crochet Artist).
With a total prize pool of Rs 2 lakhs, the event marked a significant milestone in empowering the community through creativity.
Altogether 20 finalists performed at the gathering of over 600 attendees at the U Soso Tham Auditorium to be selected through rigorous shortlisting from 142 participants who registered across the state.
In the months leading up to the finale, participants were featured on social media to help them gain national recognition and celebrate their unique voices and skills.
Rithika Baruah, Chief Marketing Officer of Yummy Noodles, said that their goal was to create a platform where Meghalaya’s hidden talents could be discovered and celebrated.
According to Baruah the community’s response has been phenomenal.
