The office of the South West Khasi Hills District Sports Officer, district administration and the Mawkyrwat District Sports Association today hosted a send-off ceremony for athletes from the district for the 6th Meghalaya Games, 2025 to be held in Jowai.
Altogether 268 athletes from South West Khasi Hills will compete in Archery, Arm Wrestling, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Cycling, Football, Karate, Kho-kho, Muay Thai, Softball, Sports Climbing, Swimming, Table Tennis, Wushu, Volleyball and Weightlifting.
Ranikor Block Development Officer, S Marweiñ encouraged the athletes to give their best. He said the Meghalaya Games is a stepping stone to other big arenas.
Jerseys were also distributed to all the athletes during the ceremony
District Sports Officer Damang Syngkon, members of various sports associations and others attended the ceremony.
