The Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Examination results declared by the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) showed that South West Garo Hills district has made remarkable strides, achieving a significant milestone with an overall pass percentage of 74.77 percent.
This marks a dramatic improvement compared to the previous years — a mere 28 per cent in 2024 and 26 per cent in 2023.
Several schools have emerged as shining examples of excellence, achieving 100 per cent pass percentages.
The schools are Nogorpara Deficit Secondary School, Good Shepherd Secondary School, Chapahati, Boldamgre Deficit Secondary School, Jewel Secondary School, Mahendraganj, Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalaya Balika Girl’s Residential School Betasing and Zikzak, Mothers’ Union Secondary School, Ampati, Bidan Bisik Secondary School, Rangsakona, St. Francis De Sales Secondary School, Mellim, Katuli Deficit Secondary School, Vidyamoni Secondary School, Garobadha and Rangsakona Deficit Higher Secondary School.
Adding to the district’s achievements, Mahir Islam of Mahendraganj Higher Secondary School secured fifth position statewide, scoring an impressive 570 marks. Another student, Tengkim G. Sangma of St. Claret Secondary School, Ampati, scored a perfect 100 marks in Health and Physical Education, placing him among the top subject scorers in the state.
Furthermore, students Amamy A. Sangma and Arbina Ch. Marak of St. Dominic Savio School, Garobadha, received distinctions in all six subjects, highlighting the growing academic potential of the district.
