After Tuesday brought heavy rainfall to the state, Meghalaya will have to likely endure a further 24 hours of bad weather on Wednesday, with conditions easing only on Thursday.
South West Khasi Hills is likely to be the most severely affected district in the state, with the Meteorological Department predicting “thunderstorms with lightning and heavy to very heavy with extremely heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places.” Possible impact includes landslides, waterlogging, traffic disruption and damage to crops, roads and vulnerable buildings.
