Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma today informed that pending state scholarships will be processed in a week’s time.
Last week, a pressure group in Garo Hills had urged the CM to look into the delay as many students are waiting for the grant so that they could pay examination fees and other admission-related costs.
Sangma admitted that he did not know what the exact cause of the delay was but said that the scholarships will be cleared soon.
“I don’t know the details right now, but I heard the officials telling me, I think it was about two days back, that it will be disbursed in a week’s time, maximum,” he said.
