The State round of the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025 will be held at Lariti International Centre for Performing Arts and Culture, Mawkasiang on March 27.
The event will be hosted by the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) and the National Service Scheme (NSS).
An initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports is aimed at encouraging youth participation in policymaking, governance, and national discourse, building upon the Prime Minister’s call of engaging one lakh youth in politics.
Youth aged between 18-25 years will engage in discussions on societal issues, fostering informed public discourse and enhancing their decision-making abilities. The initiative also aims to cultivate respect for diverse perspectives and highlight the importance of disciplined dialogue within democratic institutions.
The topics to be deliberated upon are “75 Years of the Indian Constitution: A Journey of Rights, Duties, and Progress” and “The 11 Sankalp of Samvidhan Divas: A Pledge to Strengthen India’s Constitutional Values.”
The top three selected from each state will move to the national level, where they will speak on the topic “One Nation, One Election: Simplifying Democracy, Amplifying Progress, Ensuring Stability.”
The event will culminate in the drafting of a final resolution, consolidating the most insightful and pragmatic ideas presented by the finalists. This resolution will be presented before prominent media houses, bringing youth-driven policy recommendations to the national spotlight.
