Shillong, Aug 21: The whole of Meghalaya will be under a yellow weather alert on Friday, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed.
The IMD had previously warned of severe weather conditions in East Khasi Hills, South West Khasi Hills, West Jaintia Hills and East Jaintia Hills on Friday and had issued an orange alert. However, weather forecasts are fluid and the IMD changed its advice today.
In the 24 hours to 8:30am today, the Mawsynram area received the most rainfall, of between 130mm to 204mm. Mawkyrwat, Nongstoiñ and Williamnagar were in the 70-130mm band.
