The District Election Officer of Ri-Bhoi has informed that the District Level Standing Committee has been constituted and consists of the Deputy Commissioner-cum-DEO as the Chairman.
The other committee members comprise the Additional DEO, Deputy DEO (as convener), Rudolf Pde of the Congress, B Mawphniang of the BJP, Linus Lyngdoh of the NPP, Plos Syiem of the UDP, G Pyrtuh of the Trinamool Congress and K Marwein of the HSPDP.
The committee will function to ensure compliance with the Model Court of Conduct by all political parties and contesting candidates, to discuss cases of violation of the MCC, enforcee the Election Commission’s instructions in connection with the conduct of election and matters relating to electoral rolls, list of polling station and any other matter connected with the conduct of the election.
