Amidst heavy rainfall the three-day Ri Bhoi district level inter-school athletic meet concluded today and St. Paul Higher Secondary School emerged the overall champion after winning 28 medals.
The sports meet was organised by the office of the District Sports Officer wherein 22 schools from different parts of Ri Bhoi took part.
Different individual’s awards were presented to the winning athletes including the Best Athletes under different category at the U-14 Girls bagged by Ridahun Saro of St. John HSS while in boy’s category went to Afty Mawphniang of Raid Nongbri Presbyterian SS, at the U-16 Girl and boys respectively went to Ameshka Majhong of St. Alfred SS and Kitbok Bey of St. Joseph SS and in the U-18 boys and girls went to Milin Lyngdoh of St. Paul HSS and Bankitbok Lyngdoh of RBP HSS.
In the Best Team category at the U-14 Girls and boys was bagged by the St. John SS and Little Blossom SS, at the U-16 went to the St. Alfred SS and St. Joseph HSS while at the U-18 both boys and girls was bagged by St. Paul Higher Secondary School including the overall champion by clinching 12 gold medals, 4 silver and 12 bronze medals.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Jirang MLA, Sosthenes Sohtun in the presence of Paidalin L Nonglait, District School Education Officer and District Sport Officer Bobby L Nongbet among others.
