The Sri Aurobindo Society and Samagra Shiksha North Garo Hills collectively organized a special webinar yesterday for the teachers of the district to orient them about the National Education Policy 2020 and to guide them in effective implementation of the new policy.
The webinar was graced by the SDSEO, WG Momin, as the chief guest while Ashok Sharma, National Training Head, Rupantar, Sri Aurobindo Society, attended the online session as the special guest.
Hundreds of teachers from across the district took part in the sessions that sought to enrich them with information on NEP 2020.
Dubbing NEP 2020 the first education policy of the 21st century, the SDSEO said it aimed at addressing the many growing developmental imperatives of our country.
“The core objective of any education system is to create a well-educated society that is progressive, empathetic and civilized, something that the NEP lays emphasis on. The policy has been formulated with key focus on the development of the creative potential of each individual,” he said. “With several important provisions, we are hopeful that the new education policy will pave the way of social and academic equality, value orientation and independent society.”
“The new education policy has been designed while keeping in mind the relevance of the present times. The active participation of the teachers in this webinar is indicative of their commitment towards work. India is on the path of progress and the new education policy 2020 has shown us the direction for transforming education,” stated Sharma.
He also hoped that the teachers took advantage of the session to enhance their understanding of the NEP.
The initiative of orienting the teachers of the country about NEP has been taken up by the society and webinars to the effect are currently being undertaken. The society has successfully organized more than 195 webinars for different states and different districts of the state.
