Nongpoh, Nov 15: As a gesture of appreciation and encouragement to the police of Ri-Bhoi for their dedicated efforts in combating crime and regulating traffic violators, Alpha English Higher Secondary School honoured the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Ri-Bhoi, VS Rathore, and the district police on the occasion of Children’s Day yesterday.
The school extended a special token of appreciation to laud the police for their commitment to ensuring the safety of commuters by strictly enforcing traffic laws on the highways.
Led by teacher Anand Swer along with Class 10 students, the team met Rathore in the presence of Rubul Ali, Traffic Incharge of Nongpoh Police Station. The students presented tokens of appreciation acknowledging the tireless service and sacrifices of the police in enforcing traffic rules for the safety of the public, especially schoolchildren, who travel along National Highway 6 in the district.
Rathore, while expressing his gratitude, said that the recognition and appreciation from Alpha English Higher Secondary School serve as a strong motivation for the police department to continue improving their efforts in ensuring public safety on the roads of Ri-Bhoi.
He further conveyed his special thanks to the school for acknowledging and encouraging the efforts of the police, assuring that the Ri-Bhoi Police will continue their commitment to curbing crime and taking strict action against vehicles violating traffic laws so that the public remains safe and protected from avoidable road tragedies.
