The Awegre Development Committee of South Garo Hills has written to the Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Ltd (MePDCL) today to complain about irregular power supply in several villages in the district.
According to the complaint, Awegre, An’chigre, Pasimgre, Rongchangre, An’chengre and Dana Adugre are all suffering from “very poor and irregular” power supply.
Because of this, the public are not able to keep up to date with the latest rule and regulation changes regarding the Covid-19 pandemic and students are facing difficulties in attending their online classes.
According to the complainant, only one lineman has been designated to look after the affected villages.
