Mawhati MLA Charles Marngar on Monday informed that for the all the traditional heads falling under Sonidan Villages have issued no objection certificates for construction of a road Sonidan to Umsiang Jagiroad.
Marngar said the decision to support the road projects was taken after a meeting with the traditional heads and secretary of around 66 villages in Sonidan villages.
He said that the World Bank will be conducting a survey of the village within this month. “I hope that we will soon see a new road. Though, I don’t think this year the work can start but hopefully by next year because many work is still pending like after the world bank survey, they have to again convene a meeting with traditional heads to give them training and it’s not easy since it’s not a state scheme,” he said.
According to Marngar, the total distance of the road is about 40 kms.
