A social activist from Garo Hills has written to the Director General of Police (DGP) complaining against an individual who supported Pakistan and threatening him for condemning their act.
Flaming B Marak of Asananggre West Garo Hills district, in his complaint stated that an individual by the profile name Salgro Salaram threatened him and his family members with dire consequences even with death for uploading a news item published in the Highland Post.
The report in question is about the arrest of two individuals for allegedly supporting Pakistan on social media.
The two persons from North Garo Hills district, Silgring D. Sangma of Chorebolbok village and Asbath B. Marak of Chambildam under Bajengdoba Police Station, were arrested.
They were booked under Section 152/197(1) (d) BNS, 2023 for threatening the sovereignty, unity, and integrity of India, inciting secession, armed rebellion, and subversive activities.
Marak has urged the police to investigate the matter and take strong action against the individuals or the account holder in facebook going by the name of Salgro Salaram.
“These individuals or the offenders have committed serious criminal offences by supporting Pakistan and utterly disrespecting and defaming the name and fame of our proud nation,” Marak said.
