The Border Security Force deployed in Gaobari under South Garo Hill district situated along the Indo-Bangladesh border confiscated miscellaneous items comprising skin cream, herbal mehndi and tea waste worth more than Rupees 45 lakh.
The items were meant for smuggling through border area of village Gaobari. The area being unfenced is vulnerable for smuggling purpose and facilitates trans-border movement of smugglers and carriers.
Sensing fear of being nabbed by special party of BSF, smugglers threw their head load and managed to run taking advantage of dark.
The seized items were handed over to customs for further disposal.
BSF DIG, UK Nayal said that BSF troops are vigilant and active against any anti national activity through the International Border taking all preventive measures against COVID-19 pandemic.
