A book titled “Know Your India”, authored by a Shillong-based writer Salil Gewali, has been approved for the academic purpose for students of higher classes in Agrasain Balika Siksha Sadan of Kolkata, West Bengal.
The book, published in 2022 is full of fascinating insights into the profoundly rich literary heritage of India, how it was undermined in India, Gewali said, adding, it was influenced by world-renowned scholars such as F. Voltaire, Schopenhauer, Goethe, Schrodinger, Ralph Emerson, TS Eliot, Mark Twain, Carl Sagan, Bernard Shaw.
The book is prefaced by an acclaimed scholar – Pakistan-born Khalid Umar from London, and another Yoga enthusiast, Linda Epton from Perth, Australia.
Gewali is best known for his research-based book “Great Minds on India,” which has been translated into thirteen languages. Besides being appreciated by the governments of Punjab, Assam, West Bengal, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Karnataka, the Chief Minister of Meghalaya formally launched the German edition of “Great Minds on India” in 2022.
